The Elder Tree stated sadly, "Curses reversed, cursed nullified -- you can assist me."
And so, we have formed our party. We are going back in to speak with the Elder Tree. If we can reverse this plague, the violence of Jeshar Forest will be lessened . . . it will be one step in bringing back the days when children could wander the woodlands without being stalked."

Unbeknownst to the races of today, the Gorgonoth, or Greater Gorgon, were an ancient species of mankind, pre-dating the Age of Enlightenment. Little has been discovered of their past history, and then only by a few. The legend of the Gorgonoth have all but vanished out of tales and legends, with all their hair-raising tales.
The race of the "Gorgonoth" were known in truth as the Marrik.
In the beginning, the Marrik possessed many strange and marvelous abilities, most of all the ability to socialize. They befriended many others not of their own species.
However, the Marrik were betrayed by those who coveted their ability to change the composition of living and non-living matter to something other than what it was. As long as a substance was familiar to the Marrik, they could manipulate it, changing it to rock, water, air, wood, gold, stone, gem, etc. No Marrik had the same ability as another; each was unique.
There were many of the races that pursued the enslavement of the Marrik, and attempted to capture them all.
The Marrik fled from they who would force them into subservience, escaping. But in their flight, as they defended themselves, they were forced to use the power of their abilities upon their would-be enslavers. This left a terrible mark upon the living world forever.
There were some, not of the race of the Marrik, who sympathized with their dire plight. In the events that led to the Marrik's escape, only a handful lived.
Over the ages, mankind has changed the name of the Marrik to Gorgonoth, or Greater Gorgon. Medusa was one such creature, but she was slain.
In the Amalagon Elf tongue, Gorgonoth means "Curse", and is a legend whispered in dread and fear among that elven race (for they were the chief conspirators against the Marrik).
. . . and the Marrik never forget . . .

Until I beheld the Ethereal Keep with my own eyes, I too disbelieved it existed. All my efforts to find this hidden sanctuary seemed hopeless until I met Aria, of the Mashuri Gleighdor -- a proud and fierce people who guard the secrets of Ethereal Keep.
It was she who listened to my plight, and believed in me. If not for her, my people would have remained within the conflict, no doubt threatened with extinction. I know not how long we will abide within this place, but one day, we will return to our homes.

Age of War:
Within this war-torn realm stands Tremor Keep, the realm of the Kithrin Dwarves.
During The Cleansing, a time when the Jahthas sent forth the Colossus to sift the ever-growing pride of mortals as chaff in the wind, Tremor Keep stood undaunted. While all the inhabitants of Utaemia were thrown into a maze, prepared as a trial by the great ones not of the earthen plane, the inhabitants of this stronghold resisted, sending the spirits of many Colossus into the eternal realm of death.
No enemy, to this day, have ever breached the outer walls of this dwarven sanctuary, carved from the granite rocks of the Iron Mountains.
