Short Biography:

Born and raised in the back woods of the Oregon, Michael Giles curiously sought out all manner of life. Into the world of bugs, and rhodents, from reptiles to spiders and more, he immerced himself.

The possibilities of exploration anywhere he goes fuels the thrill of an over-zealous imagination. Michael enjoys a good novel, scripture reading and collecting vintage items, especially comic books.

Camping and fishing are always on his mind, as well as learning anything and everything he can by experiencing it.

Michael is a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, and loves to serve whenever he can.

He enjoys video game consol and old school board game collecting. If there is a second hand store, he is a frequent flyer customer.

He is curious to know the working of nature, exploring the sites and trails, ever enthralled by local topography and its inhabitants, both sentient and not.

His friendly, outgoing personality makes for a large pool of aquaintences and friends.

I was digging a big hole in our side yard in Tranquility CA back in 1976 (15 miles outside of Fresno). As I was working the dirt, a small rhodent broke through. Out came a gopher. I fed him a small piece of carrot as he poked his head out. Every day I'd bring him something to eat and we became buds. I never put him in a cage, and he never bit me. When we moved, I put him back in his hole and shoved a bunch of food into his tunnel. I then said goodbye to him. His name was George.

At 14 years old, I found two Red Tailed Hawks while exploring. I hung out with them for most of the summer of 1978 in Flagstaff AZ. Soon we became inseperable. A Ranger came and took them from me. I don't have an actural picture of them, but this is close enough.

Burning garbage for my Grandma, I decided to throw some weeds into the fire burning within the 55gal drum (it was poison oak). Accidently inhaling the smoke, I ended up getting a shot at the doctor for this one. I would smile and make the nurses laugh. Once I got over it, the only thing poison oak did to me was give me a 1-2 day light rash. I don't recommend it.
