Enchanted Kubaton: Aural's
Aural's Kubaton has translucent runes etched into the surface of the wood.
When a Maximum-Strike occurs (when your offensive-roll is +40, or greater than your foe's defensive-roll) the creature struck will be thrown back 1-D4 spaces by a visible concussion blast of see-through of energy.
Avoidance-Roll: None.
Damage: x2 kubaton damage (+1-D8 damage per rank).
Wielded by a Shintar or Vekkarian Monk: +1-D6 damage per level advanced.
History: Aural was a Monk who lived during the Age of Enlightenment. He rose to great power and renown, fighting for the honor of his king and countrymen. Developing the power of energy, he desired others who followed in the same path to share in his discoveries of inner Key Flow.
Immunities: Creatures x5, or greater in weight are not effected.
See: "Notes".
Notes: The weight of a creature struck will effected more for every 5 points of Dexterity a Monk has over the creature struck as follows:
+5 points of Dexterity above your foe's Dexterity ----- : x6 creature's weight is effected.
+10 points of Dexterity above your foe's Dexterity --- : x7 creature's weight is effected.
+15 points of Dexterity above your foe's Dexterity --- : x8 creature's weight is effected.
+20 points of Dexterity above your foe's Dexterity --- : x9 creature's weight is effected.
Etc. (there is no maximum adjustment for this effect).
Special: Knowing that some Monks might fail
at developing Key Flow, Aural
devised a way to share a portion of
Key Flow with them in the form of an
enchanted kubaton. The unique
power of this enchanted weapon will
give the Monk who claims it a single
chance to ignite and develop Key
Flow, should he or she not yet
possess it.
Once used, the chance this kubaton
gives will lay dormant for 5 years
before it can be used again.
Note: Once a Monk has attempted
this, he or she CANNOT attempt it
again by the same kubaton, but can
by claiming a different one.
Masters will often collect and keep
these kubatons to give to a faithful
student who has earned the privilege
of a second chance.
Susceptibilities: Any creature that has a Dexterity of less than 1/2 of the Monk's current Dexterity will be thrown back 2-D4 spaces (instead of the normal 1-D4).
Value: 6 White-Gold.
