Enchanted Arrow: Flare
The Flare Arrow has whitish-yellow runes etched into the surface of the arrowhead.
If this arrow is shot and strikes a target, it will cause normal arrow damage and will flare (as stated above), causing burn damage. See: "Damage".

Area of Effect: If shot into the air, it will flare brilliantly, shedding light down upon an area of 100 spaces out from the flare-point in a globular light effect.
Damage: 2-D6 per turn. The arrow must be removed and disgarded in order to be free of the burn effect. This is not fire, but can set fire to combustables in the same space it lands or strikes.
Duration: Flare effect will burn for 720 turns (one hour).
History: Unknown.
Immunities: Fire-dwelling creatures take only ½ damage, and Fire-using creatures take no damage from the flare-burst of this enchanted weapon.
If thrown, or used in a dagger-like fashion, it will also be set off. A roll of 03-04, in which the arrow is dropped, will have a 40% chance of being set off.
Susceptibilities: Cold-dwelling creatures take 50% more damage, and cold-using creatures take x2 damage from the flare-burst of this enchanted weapon.
